YOUTH PICKLEBALL PROGRAMS IN SASKATOON

From Their First Rally to Their First Competition

Welcome to Youth Pickleball at TopZpin Hitlabs — a year-round development pathway designed to introduce kids to pickleball, build strong fundamentals and give young players opportunities to play, develop, compete and belong.

From our youngest Little Aces discovering the game for the first time to junior athletes developing their skills and competing through Jr.MiLP, TopZpin provides a place to start — and a pathway to keep growing.

THE TOPZPIN YOUTH PICKLEBALL PATHWAY

LITTLE ACES → LEARN2RALLY → LEARN2PLAY → FUTURE ACES → Jr.MiLP

DISCOVER → RALLY → PLAY → DEVELOP → COMPETE

Every child doesn't have to become a competitive player. But every child deserves the opportunity to learn the game properly, build confidence, make friends, stay active and discover how far they want to take it.

LITTLE ACES

Big Fun for Our Littlest Players (4- 6 years old)

Little Aces is the first step in the TopZpin Youth Pickleball Pathway and is created especially for our youngest players.

Before kids need to worry about scoring, strategy or winning points, they need to develop something even more important — a love of moving, hitting and playing.

Little Aces introduces children to pickleball through fun, age-appropriate activities designed to develop:

• Hand-eye coordination
• Paddle and ball control
• Tracking the ball
• Balance and agility
• Footwork and movement
• Sending and receiving
• Forehand and backhand movement patterns
• Catching and tossing
• Reaction skills
• Spatial awareness
• Working with others
• Confidence on the court

At this stage, success isn't measured by wins and losses.

Success can be making contact with the ball, completing a challenge, controlling the paddle or simply leaving the court excited to come back.

MOVE • HIT • PLAY • SMILE

LEARN2RALLY — LEVEL 1

Build the Foundation

Ready to start learning pickleball?

Learn2Rally introduces young players to the proper foundations of the game, including grip, footwork, movement and fundamental pickleball skills.

Players progress from self-rallying to rallying with assistance and eventually rallying across the net with another player.

The goal is to develop the control and consistency needed to build toward a minimum 20-ball rally.

Players work on:

• Proper grip
• Paddle control
• Hand-eye coordination
• Footwork and movement
• Forehand and backhand fundamentals
• Sending and receiving
• Court awareness
• Basic pickleball rules
• Rallying
• Confidence on court

Before kids can really PLAY the game, they need to learn how to RALLY.

LEARN2RALLY

Learn the fundamentals. Build the rally.

LEARN2PLAY — LEVEL 2

From Rallying to Playing

Once a young player can rally, the next step is learning how to actually play pickleball.

Learn2Play builds on the fundamentals developed in Learn2Rally and begins introducing the rules, scoring, positioning and decision-making required to play a complete game.

Players learn:

• Serving
• Returning
• Starting a point
• Court positioning
• Partner positioning
• The Non-Volley Zone or "Kitchen"
• Traditional pickleball scoring
• Rally-point scoring
• Game procedures
• Basic shot selection
• How points are won and lost
• Modified games
• Complete pickleball games

The goal is to move young athletes from simply hitting a pickleball to understanding how to PLAY pickleball.

LEARN2PLAY

Learn the game. Keep score. Start playing.

FUTURE ACES

Develop. Grow. Compete.

Future Aces is the next stage in the TopZpin youth development pathway.

Designed for developing junior players, Future Aces provides opportunities to continue building skills through structured coaching, drills, games, challenges and competitive experiences.

Players continue developing:

• Serves and returns
• Forehands and backhands
• Volleys and dinks
• Movement and positioning
• Shot selection
• Game strategy
• Partner communication
• Confidence
• Teamwork
• Sportsmanship
• Leadership
• Resilience

Future Aces goes beyond simply developing better pickleball players.

We want sport to help develop confident, active and connected young people.

FUTURE ACES — INVESTING IN YOUTH

TopZpin works with community and corporate partners to create opportunities for more young people to participate in pickleball.

Through sponsored Future Aces initiatives, we've been able to provide opportunities that can include coaching, court time, equipment and structured programming while helping reduce financial barriers to youth participation.

Our goal isn't simply to find the next great pickleball player.

It's to give more kids an opportunity to discover sport, develop confidence and find somewhere they belong.

Jr.MiLP — JUNIOR MINOR LEAGUE PICKLEBALL

Train. Compete. Belong.

Ready to compete?

Jr.MiLP — Junior Minor League Pickleball — gives developing junior players an opportunity to take the skills they've learned and put them into organized team competition.

The team-based format helps young athletes develop:

• Communication
• Teamwork
• Strategy
• Accountability
• Sportsmanship
• Competitive confidence
• Playing under pressure
• Supporting teammates
• Match experience

Jr.MiLP creates an important bridge between learning the game and experiencing meaningful junior competition.

CERTIFIED PICKLEBALL COACHING FOR KIDS

Teaching children requires more than simply knowing how to play pickleball.

TopZpin's youth instructional programs are built around structured coaching and progressive player development.

Our courses are delivered by Pickleball Canada Certified Coaches and NCCP coaches who are TPA members.

TopZpin has also been recognized as a TPA Facility.

Our programming is led by an NCCP Registered Coach (Lester Esteban) and supported by our Level 2 and Level 1 coaching team.

For parents, that means your child isn't simply being shown a few pickleball shots. They're learning within a structured coaching environment designed to help players progressively develop their skills and understanding of the game. Pickleball Canada's Coaching Program has been rated a Gold Standard by International Standards.

YEAR-ROUND INDOOR YOUTH PICKLEBALL IN SASKATOON

Saskatchewan weather shouldn't determine when your child can play.

TopZpin provides indoor youth pickleball programming throughout the year.

FALL • WINTER • SPRING • SUMMER

Whether it's their first lesson, a youth program, a camp or junior competition, young players have somewhere to continue learning and playing.

WHY PICKLEBALL FOR KIDS?

Pickleball is accessible, social and fun to learn.

Young players can experience successful rallies relatively quickly while continuing to develop increasingly sophisticated skills as their game improves.

Pickleball can help children develop:

• Hand-eye coordination
• Agility and balance
• Movement
• Reaction skills
• Decision-making
• Communication
• Teamwork
• Confidence
• Sportsmanship
• Strategic thinking

And unlike many youth sports, pickleball can become something children continue playing with friends, parents and even grandparents.

It's a sport they can play for life.
